Title: Welding Inspector
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Hire Type: Contract (6–9 months)
Salary: $30–$40/hr + Per Diem (GSA rate if 75+ miles from site)

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Welding Inspector supporting a natural gas distribution pipeline project.

Job Duties:
  • Perform visual weld inspections in the field for compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Verify WPS/WPQR documentation and identify welding defects.
  • Coordinate or witness NDE activities and document results.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and maintain inspection reports.
  • Support quality and compliance follow-ups with the construction team.
Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CPWI equivalent.
  • Experience supporting natural gas distribution projects.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable in field environments.
  • Advanced welding inspection certifications preferred.
