Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler
Location: Forest Park, GA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $22.50/hr.
2nd Shift: 3pm-12am.
Needs to have a CDL license
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for accurately handling finished goods, packaging, raw materials, and the safe operation of a yard truck. You will be transporting trailers to and from the yard and dock doors, playing a key role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
This role is demanding and requires the ability to make quick decisions, balance workloads, and work both independently and with others. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and committed to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, date, record, and mark all inbound receipts.
- Stock inbound materials in designated areas.
- Load completed orders and load out trucks.
- Pick orders as needed based on workload.
- Assist in cycle counting as needed.
- Operate various equipment including a floor scrubber, scissor lift, boom lift, stand-up forklift, etc.
- Proficiently operate a yard hostler.
- Follow all company safety requirements and GMP.
- Perform yard checks and spot trailers for the tank yard.
- Conduct periodic audits of refrigerated trailers both in the yard and dock doors.
- Report any refrigerated trailers with temperatures above 36 degrees for over 30 minutes.
- Report any malfunctions or problems with the yard truck as soon as they are noticed.
- Participate in miscellaneous projects or perform other duties as required.
- Report any food safety and quality issues to management.
- Adhere to all company policies, plant rules, and safety regulations, complying with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety guidelines in equipment operation.
- Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must be trained and licensed to operate a Yard Spotter and forklift.
- CDL required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Ability to walk, stand, twist, bend, lift, and use stairs.
- Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 33 to 90 degrees.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by business needs.
- Previous Yard Jockey experience required.
