Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Oversees and directs pipeline and gas distribution field activities performed by contracting company personnel ensuring that applicable federal laws and construction standards, company and safety policies, and regulatory requirements are met.
  2. Reviews, verifies, and ensures that the construction schedule is met and that the project is constructed as designed and in accordance with all applicable specifications, including engineering drawings. 
  3. Reads and interprets engineering drawings and confirms that the construction is conforming to the engineering drawings.
  4. Utilizes independent judgment in monitoring and determining whether the applicable standards being met by third party contracting employees.
  5. Utilizes independent judgment in determining whether applicable federal code and/or standards are being followed and satisfied and in directing the work, and placing a stop work order when the work being performed by contractors is not in compliance.
  6. Performs Quality Control checks on work being performed by contractor crews to evaluate and ensure code compliance.
  7. Utilizes independent judgment and discretion in determining the seriousness of any diversions from code or policy compliance and determines, directs, and implements steps to resolve any issues or noncompliance.
Required Qualifications:
 
  1. Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the utility or pipeline industries or a related industry.
  2. Specialized knowledge of gas distribution, pipeline and/or facility code requirements and procedures (OSHA, 49 C.F.R. Part 192, regional codes, operation manuals, etc.).
  3. API 1169 certification preferred
  4. Collaborative approach to problem solving.
