Toolmaker Apprentice
Job Description
- Assembles and debugs automation equipment to ensure that all required specifications are met including engineering validation, product verification, and machine qualification
- Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and troubleshoots automation stations and components. Includes troubleshooting assembly and product issues, adjusting manufacturing processes to improve product performance and reacting quickly to any production requirements.
- Assists in the disassembly/packaging and subsequent unpacking & commissioning of LR-Automation equipment installed in facilities globally.
- Provides technical support for launching new equipment produced by the LR-Automation Team.
- Attends Design Reviews and PFMEA’s while working with Automation Design Engineers to improve current and future designs of Automation Equipment.
- Understands, supports, and contributes to complete projects according to internal product development procedures, TQM and IS/QS-9000 requirements. Embraces Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- International Travel: Up to 20% per year.
- Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills to arrive at sound solutions.
- Perform Component inspection utilizing various metrology tools (OMM, Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gage, etc.).
- Toolmaking – Operation of manual and/or cnc machining, grinding, and heat-treating equipment
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
