Tooling General Manager -plastics
Job Description
- Lead the site to achieve business growth, profitability, and operational goals aligned with company vision and mission.
- Assess markets, develop and maintain strategic alliances with key customers, and drive customer engagement.
- Influence and negotiate with executives and major clients to advance business objectives.
- Provide strong leadership with effective human relations and business skills at all levels of the organization.
- Direct execution and develop process expertise to deliver customer solutions rapidly and cost-effectively.
- Manage tooling requisitions from prototype through mass production.
- Oversee tooling improvements, major repairs, and engineering change notices for molds.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs for production molds.
- Enhance manufacturing processes through research, design, modification, and testing of methods and equipment.
- Improve efficiency by analyzing tooling and processes.
- Drive quality and safety improvements, including training for tool room teams.
- Oversee functional areas including Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Regulatory, Quality, Warehousing & Logistics, Business Excellence, HR, and Financial Controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of industry experience, including at least 12 years in Operations Management at the executive level.
- Proven success leading large teams and managing multi-million-dollar revenues.
- Strong track record of improving operational metrics (turns, quality, delivery, cycle times, costs, inventory).
- Experience in reverse logistics, warranty/non-warranty repair, and service (preferred).
- Ability to influence senior leaders, executives, and key clients.
- Hands-on NPI experience managing new customer programs from concept through delivery.
- Strong sales development, operational, and financial skills.
- Experience working with ODMs and/or OEMs.
