Job Summary:
The Tooling Designer plays a pivotal role in designing tools for various departments, including Stamping, Welding, and Machining. This position focuses on ensuring the tools designed meet production requirements and adhere to print specifications.

Job Duties:
Design tools for production, ensuring they meet print specifications.
Develop comprehensive work instructions for both parts and tools to demonstrate their proper use.
Provide support by contributing to the development of advanced lean manufacturing engineering processes, sustaining ongoing productivity, and maintaining global competitiveness.
Collaborate with design engineers to enhance the design and development of NEW Products with a focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to optimize part flows.
Evaluate issues related to production parts and tooling, originating from Continual Improvement feedback, customer feedback, rejections, or tooling build and assembly processes.
Effectively manage projects to ensure they stay within budget, adhere to deadlines, and meet all quality requirements.
Maintain and communicate project statuses, progress towards key milestones, and critical path deliverables.
Work closely with development groups to address product tooling, secondary manufacturing methods, and processes, ensuring efficient production methods.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide a written response to customer requests for corrective action.
Attend development training sessions to stay updated on market trends and incorporate them into company improvements.
Research the market for new ideas and explore how they can be implemented in a real manufacturing environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
One-year certificate from a college or technical school related to metal forming or machining; or one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A basic ability to read blueprints, work orders, and use various measuring instruments is preferred. Certification for these skills is provided through in-house training.
Ability to visually identify problems and develop corrective action plans.
Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions.
Upbeat and positive personality conducive to training.
Open-mindedness to test new ideas.
Design experience is preferred but not required.
Solidworks experience is preferred.
