Tool Room Manager(injection mold)
Job Description
Location: Des Plaines, IL 60016
Salary: $110,000–$125,000 + 5% Bonus
Hours: 1st Shift | Standard Office Hours
Hire Type: Direct Hire

- Oversee daily operations of the tool room and maintenance departments within an injection molding environment
- Manage and support a team of 6 employees including engineering, maintenance, and tool room personnel
- Develop costing for new tools, products, and materials
- Support process improvements, manufacturing efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate tooling repairs, preventative maintenance, and production support activities
- Work cross functionally with production, quality, and leadership teams to support operational goals
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing and tooling related issues
- Support capital equipment and tooling projects as needed
- Must have 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience within an injection molding environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering, maintenance, or tool room personnel
- Strong understanding of tooling, tool room operations, and injection molding processes
- Experience developing tooling, product, and material cost estimates
- Hands on manufacturing background with strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements within a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
