Job Summary:
The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines, including conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines, and machining centers. This role is pivotal in building dies and producing high-quality, tight tolerance parts with minimal or no guidance.

Job Duties:
  1. Analyze blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  2. Use precise measurements, markings, and scribing to establish dimensions and reference points on materials for machining guidance.
  3. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on various machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  4. Set and adjust machine controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or input computerized machine control media.
  5. Monitor machine operations for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making adjustments as needed.
  6. Ensure the finished workpiece conforms to specifications.
  7. Conduct trial runs to validate machine settings or programmed control data.
  8. Assemble and fit parts to create complete assemblies.
  9. Verify dimensions and alignment within the assembly.
  10. Install machined replacement parts into mechanisms, machines, and equipment, testing for functionality and performance.
  11. Operate welding equipment for cutting or welding parts.
  12. Develop specifications from general descriptions and create sketches of parts or products to be fabricated.
  13. Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  15. Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 5 years of technical experience.
  2. Advanced ability to read blueprints, work orders, and proficiency in using various measuring instruments.
  3. Certification for these skills provided through in-house training.
  4. Competence in working from written or verbal instructions.
  5. Experience with MIETRAK is a plus.
  6. Strong team-oriented mindset.
  7. Proficiency in reading prints (CAD knowledge is a plus).
  8. Ability to utilize all related hardware and software.
