Location: Elmhurst, IL
Pay: Up to $23/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Direct Hire Considered)
Are you an HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, or mechanically inclined troubleshooter looking for a stable opportunity with long-term growth? We are seeking a Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing team responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating custom industrial cooling equipment before shipment.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with residential or commercial HVAC experience who want a clean, organized work environment without the demands of field service work.
What You'll Do
- Conduct pressurized leak checks on completed equipment
- Pull vacuum systems and perform refrigerant charging
- Test and verify equipment performance prior to shipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration and mechanical issues as needed
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and piping schematics
- Assist with electrical wiring and component verification
- Ensure all products meet quality and performance standards
- Document testing results and communicate findings with production teams
Preferred Experience
- Residential or commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with refrigeration systems and troubleshooting
- Ability to read piping and electrical schematics
- Experience wiring basic electrical components
- Familiarity with brass fittings, copper tubing, and brazing
- EPA Certification is a plus
