Job Title: Test Technician I
Location: West Columbia, SC
Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Pay: $19/hr + $1 shift differential

General Purpose:
The Test Technician I is responsible for performing basic electrical and functional testing on backpack blower units to ensure product quality and performance standards are met. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for individuals with a basic understanding of electrical or electronic testing who are eager to grow in a manufacturing environment. The technician will follow standardized procedures to test, document results, and identify any product issues prior to final release.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Perform basic electrical and functional testing on backpack blower units.
  • Follow established test procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect products for defects and verify proper operation of electrical components.
  • Record and document test results accurately in systems or logs.
  • Identify and report any product failures or inconsistencies to supervisors or engineering teams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical or mechanical issues as needed.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly set up and functioning correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support production teams in meeting daily output and quality goals.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding testing status and issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing, testing, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical or electronic testing concepts.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
