Job Description

Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Liberty, SC
Hire Type: Contract (Sep–Feb)
Salary: $30/hr

Under minimal supervision, the Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling equipment per mechanical drawings, operating machinery such as mills, lathes, and drill presses, and maintaining ISO quality standards. The position requires effective communication with the Machine Build Lead, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assemble equipment according to mechanical and assembly drawings;
  2. Document and communicate any changes, issues, or problems encountered during assembly;
  3. Operate and safely maintain equipment, including mill, lathe, and drill press;
  4. Follow ISO quality standards and maintain a safe work environment;
  5. Collaborate with the Machine Build Lead on open issues, project progress, and task execution;
  6. Maintain a steady pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and maneuvering around and beneath machines;
  7. Lift items up to 50 lbs. as required;
  8. Obtain necessary licenses and training while employed (Hi-Lo/Forklift, Aerial Platform, Overhead Crane, Lock Out Tag Out);
  9. Travel as required to support projects at other locations, including domestic and international assignments;
  10. Maintain and use personal hand tools and a toolbox suitable for the role.
Job Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training preferred;
  2. Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality;
  3. Intermediate proficiency in reading part and assembly drawings;
  4. Basic computer skills;
  5. Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team;
  6. Experience in machine assembly, manufacturing, or similar environments preferred
