Job Description
Title: CNC Machinist (Precision Grinding)
Location: Bartlett, IL
Hire Type: Direct-Hire
Shift/Hours: 2nd Shift
Pay: $20-30/hr

About the Opportunity:
The purpose is to perform a set up for a given part and produce high precision components according to the customer’s print, specifications, and guidelines. Produce components according to the rate determined by the client. May use one or more various types of CNC, manual grinders and vertical and horizontal hones.
Job Duties:
- Start the machine and perform start up inspection
- Ensure that proper gauging is being used for the job intended to run
- Read and understand blueprint
- Produce precision components according to the blueprint
- Produce precision components at rate
- Perform all necessary part inspection using gauging instruments specified in the inspection sheet
- Perform necessary statistical process control
- Clean the workstation, check machine fluid levels and refill as needed
- Perform set up for a new or an existing component to be honed
- Obtain necessary tooling
- Troubleshoot as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC machines, manual grinders, or hones in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work orders.
- Familiarity with tight tolerance machining.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other related tools.
- Demonstrated ability to set up and run CNC or manual machines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for fine part handling and inspection.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on machinery.
