Location: Elgin, IL
Hire Type: 6 month contract with possibility of going longer! 
Salary: $32–$38/hr (depending on experience)

We have an exciting 2nd shift opportunity for a CMM Programmer with a leading injection molding manufacturer in Elgin, IL. This role is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure parts meet precise dimensional and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in an injection mold or precision manufacturing environment and be skilled in dimensional inspection and metrology.

Job Duties:
  • Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect injection molded parts and components
  • Create, edit, and validate CMM programs using PC-DMIS software
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with quality engineers and production teams to resolve measurement and dimensional issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action efforts
  • Maintain CMM calibration, cleanliness, and proper functioning
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards during inspection and programming activities
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of CMM programming experience using PC-DMIS (preferred)
  • Background in injection molding, plastics, or precision manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional metrology principles
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D models
  • Experience performing first article and layout inspections
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime as needed
