Mechanic
Job Description
Location: Crest Hill, IL 60435
Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Hours: Full-time
Hire Type: Direct Hire | Union Position
- Assemble construction hoists and related mechanical components
- Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Inspect equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Use hand tools and shop equipment to complete repairs and installations
- Assist senior mechanics and participate in structured apprenticeship training
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety procedures
- 2–3+ years of mechanical experience (construction equipment, automotive, industrial, or similar)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to use hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Welding experience is a plus but not required
- Frequent lifting, climbing, bending, and standing
- Working around heavy mechanical equipment
- Ability to safely work in a shop and industrial environment
