Technical Writer
Job Description
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $30–35/hr (Flexible based on experience)
Conversion Opportunity: Potential to transition to permanent employment based on performance and business needs
- Develop, update, and maintain Instructions, Operations, and Maintenance (IOM) manuals.
- Review and edit documentation for hazardous location certification packages.
- Create and maintain standardized reporting templates for departmental consistency.
- Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including scheduling and supporting review board meetings.
- Administer and prioritize requests in the Global Equipment Request Queue.
- Manage the Validation Test Request Queue to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Support document control processes and ensure compliance with internal standards and certification body requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, compliance teams, and project stakeholders to gather and organize technical content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, document management, or administrative coordination within a technical or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with hazardous location certifications (e.g., ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA) preferred.
- Experience with document control systems, ECN workflows, and validation/test request management.
