Job Description

Position Title: Industrial Valve Sales Manager
Sales Region: Chicagoland and surrounding states
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Base Salary plus commission and paid expense
Must have: experience selling industrial valves -preferably in the Tankcar or Rail Industry
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares proposals or quotes for represented product solutions including sizing, selection, delivery, and pricing to facilitate product sales.
  • Interacts with customers on a day-to-day basis, primarily by phone and email, providing technical, commercial, and general sales support.
  • Develops customer requirements and identifies opportunities to add value, uplift margin, and expand the scope of product supply.
  • Manages workload and engages available internal and external resources, as required, to meet customer-imposed deadlines.
  • Manages change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders reducing non-conformance and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Continually develops and maintains a high level of technical proficiency with products and services represented, internal business systems, and principal-supplied tools.
  • Continually develops and maintains awareness of all products and services provided by the company to identify opportunities to expand the company’s supply scope with customers
  • Evaluates and suggest improvements to team processes and tools that will improve efficiency and increase customer dependency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Rail industry experience is highly preferred
  • Advanced technical knowledge/understanding of product offerings, business, and the industries served is required.
  • 3-5 years as a Valve Sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment.
  • Strong PC proficiency including MS Office, principal supplied tools, internal business system, and internet.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and other employees.
  • Excellent conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong self-management skills including dependability, initiative, innovation, professionalism, and organization skills.
  • High ethical standards in dealing with customers and principals.
