Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
- Evaluate supplier PPAP submissions, including documentation such as warrants, PFCs, FMEAs, control plans, and related materials for product approval
- Collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and engineers to identify and resolve quality issues
- Assess the quality and approval status of critical components from suppliers
- Partner with project teams to define deliverables and ensure alignment with quality standards
- Assign parts and assemblies to the appropriate design engineer for review and approval
- Apply Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE methodologies to reduce defects in casted and forged components
- Conduct supplier audits, create action plans for improvements, and monitor progress until completion
- Utilize SAP to evaluate inventory impact and manage necessary adjustments
- Work proactively with suppliers to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence of quality issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with manufacturing and engineering processes
- Familiarity with production workflows, methods, and principles
- Experience collaborating with both internal teams and external suppliers or customers
- Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ERP systems
- Strong skills in statistical analysis and quality assurance techniques
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
