Substation Design Engineer
Job Description
- Function as a technical Lead substation design engineer for projects involving (distribution, sub transmission and transmission level voltage classes)
- Utilize resources available for safety and regulatory standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO/RTO) to effectively define project requirements, review project deliverables (physical, P&C, power system design) and collaborate with owner and OEM resources (subject matter experts, internal engineering, and project management).
- Provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction new asset and operating asset services in the following areas: Substations, Overhead Transmission lines, Underground Transmission lines, Renewables Integration, HVDC/FACTs
- Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects Assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required

Qualifications:
- Substation Design – Physical & P&C
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on STATCOM/FACTS technology
- Exposure to simulation and modeling software such as PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, etc.
- PE License preferred
