Job Description
- Contribute to and act as a team lead for project teams in the design, modification, and analysis of civil engineering initiatives
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex civil and structural engineering issues
- Create civil designs from preliminary stages through to as-built documentation
- Produce plans, surveys, reports, data, and construction documents matching client specifications
- Prepare, review, approve, and negotiate proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and contract revisions
- Oversee and perform design work for underground and overhead power installations
- Coordinate design activities, vendor purchase specifications, and pre-engineered systems to align with codes and client requirements
- Manage design stage tickets, utility atlas map retrieval, and survey field staff coordination
- Perform independent QA reviews of calculations, drawings, and work completed by other team members
- Direct the work of drafting and designer support staff
- Conduct site walkdowns and collaborate directly with clients, construction contractors, and consultants
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or another accredited engineering degree
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
- Technical knowledge in surveying, utilities infrastructure, power distribution, land development, transportation, and water/drainage
- Deep understanding of regulatory laws, ordinances, and permitting submittals for local, state, and federal agencies
- Strong project management, time management, organizational, and budget oversight skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Structural Engineer (SE) license (Preferred)
- EIT or PE license with eligibility for reciprocity in other states (Preferred)
