Job Summary:
  • This position entails operating, maintaining, and ensuring the optimal functioning of steam boilers, their associated systems, and related equipment. This includes monitoring and addressing mechanical, electrical, and physical aspects of the boilers. Additionally, the role involves conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and performing necessary repairs on steam boilers and ancillary equipment such as compressors, generators, and pumps.

Job Duties:
  • Operate the steam boilers and ancillary equipment per local and state standards.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair steam boilers and ancillary equipment including compressors, generators, and pumps.
  • Maintain a current stationary engineer operator's license for local and state certification.
  • Provide coverage as a Stationary Engineer when required at a facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the steam boiler and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical (excluding PLCs) and mechanical problems related to boiler equipment and systems, including pneumatic and plumbing issues.
  • Organize and maintain equipment, department spare parts inventory, and supplies inventories.
  • Maintain logs, equipment documentation, preventive maintenance documentation, work orders, pass downs, and time sheets on a daily basis.
  • Assist with plant maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ensure proper chemical levels for boiler systems and ancillary equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all boiler and related equipment to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Minimize equipment downtime through timely and accurate preventative maintenance and repairs, and coordinate maintenance schedules with production staff and management when applicable.
  • Utilize the maintenance computer program to interface with work orders, parts, and preventive maintenance systems.
  • Perform any additional duties and assignments as required by the Company.

Qualifications:
  • Possesses a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Stationary Engineer, operating and maintaining steam boilers and ancillary equipment.
  • Holds a current stationary engineer operator's license for local and state certification.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating and maintaining steam boilers, systems, and related equipment in compliance with local and state standards.
  • Skilled in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing steam boilers, compressors, generators, and pumps.
  • Proficient in performing preventive maintenance on steam boilers and ancillary equipment.
  • Experienced in diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues related to boiler equipment and systems, including pneumatic and plumbing problems.
