Staff Accountant (Costing Focus)
Job Description
Location: Taneytown, MD 21787
Pay Rate: $30.00–$34.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift: M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 6-month contract (with possible extension)

- Support month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assist with inventory, purchasing, and accounts receivable accounting processes
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support standard costing activities, including updates and basic analysis
- Assist with tracking and analyzing production costs and variances
- Help prepare sales and margin reports for internal review
- Maintain fixed asset records and support monthly updates
- Compile and analyze financial data to support operational decision-making
- Assist with process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures
- Support ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (manufacturing or cost accounting exposure preferred)
- Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with inventory and/or cost accounting concepts is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
