Sr. Structural Engineer
Job Description
Location: Hammond, IN (46323)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $132K–$149K

- Lead structural engineering projects from conceptual design through installation, field support, and start-up.
- Execute structural design work across steel, oil & gas, chemical, and life sciences projects.
- Determine project scope, manage schedules and budgets, and communicate changes effectively to project teams.
- Perform structural analysis, detailed design, equipment specification, and estimating.
- Interact with clients and internal teams through meetings, design reviews, and progress updates.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Assist with man-hour estimates and development of project proposals.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Support field inspections, equipment installation, and start-up activities.
- Travel occasionally for project and site support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
- PE license required (SE license a plus).
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD, or similar structural analysis software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Experience managing projects from planning through execution.
