Location: Columbus, OH
Hire Type: Direct hire
Compensation: 130-180K

Key Responsibilities
Technical Advancement & Innovation
  • Identify and evaluate emerging tools, systems, and methodologies that support innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to internal technology and innovation councils by reviewing and recommending investments that strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Establish technical direction, standards, and long-term vision for the assigned practice area.
  • Collaborate with peer leaders to promote consistent application of best practices across disciplines.
  • Select and develop subject-matter leaders within the practice, setting goals and measuring performance through annual development planning.
  • Build and maintain a forward-looking talent framework to assess skill depth and support future hiring needs.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to staff within areas of specialization.
  • Assist market and leadership teams in evaluating technical capabilities and workforce skill alignment.
  • Review and approve technical abstracts, white papers, and publication requests.
Business Growth & Client Engagement
  • Partner with senior leadership to support long-range growth strategies driven by technical differentiation.
  • Work closely with market leaders to expand existing client relationships and cultivate new opportunities to meet growth targets.
  • Lead efforts to introduce innovative solutions to internal teams and clients through workshops, seminars, and targeted presentations.
  • Contribute to proposal strategies by shaping technical narratives, ensuring clarity, compliance, and competitive positioning.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and pursuit activities as a technical resource.
  • Strengthen industry visibility by engaging in professional associations, contributing to publications, and presenting at conferences.
  • Encourage and support team members in professional involvement and thought leadership activities.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline required
Licensure
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience within the power sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, transmission systems, and substations
