As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support business objectives by identifying, preparing, and managing all aspects of plant, processing, or packaging projects. Typical projects include process and packaging equipment & automation, building construction and modification, new and/or modified production lines for new products, utilities/infrastructure, material handling engineering, and safety engineering. This position is based in a manufacturing environment and interfaces daily with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, and Marketing.  
 
Job Duties:
  • Plan and execute food manufacturing projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize their impact on outcomes.
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and generate regular reports on project status.
  • Provide leadership, assign responsibilities, and foster collaboration within project teams.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, technologies, and systems.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify training needs and provide development opportunities to the project team.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to manage suppliers and vendors effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience, preferably in a food processing facility or CPG environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple, varied assignments simultaneously
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • AutoCAD a plus, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Ability to travel for project-related work up to 30% at other domestic facilities
