Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.E.)
Location: Chicagoland Area (must be able to be on-site 1 day/week in Champaign, IL)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $135k–$175k

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) to lead mechanical and plumbing design efforts across a variety of projects. This role involves full-cycle project engagement—from client coordination and site surveys to design development and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical engineering task,s including client meetings, site visits, and project management.
  • Conduct existing conditions surveys and produce PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details.
  • Develop conceptual designs for mechanical, plumbing, and process systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, electrical, and controls teams to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Deliver engineering solutions, bills of materials, and project schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical, piping, and plumbing codes and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited U.S. institution. 
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role within an MEP firm. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
