Job Duties:

• Plan, design, draw, and provide installation support of electrical lighting and power equipment for roadway projects
• Upgrade and modify existing installations
• Work with multiple aspects of intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
• Review and modify electrical engineering plans for the removal and installation of temporary and permanent electrical items
• Review electrical component specifications
• Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) software and other engineering software throughout all phases of planning and design to prepare report exhibits and detailed drawings for contract plans
• Prepare bill of materials and estimates of quantities and cost
• Mentor roadway lighting staff in technical design, modeling, and analyzing roadway lighting components
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relate degree program
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience
• Current Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, preferred
• Must be familiar with computer software including Microsoft Office and BlueBeam
• Experience with MicroStation
