Solution Engineer

Job Duties:

• Based on discovery conversations with the product and sales team, match the feature to the product that the customer needs or wants and guide the sales team to craft the compelling story that matches the feature to the product
• Serve as a technical resource for Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success when crafting technical responses for proposals, upsell/cross-sell efforts, and other ad hoc initiatives
• Help facilitate the sales process by acting as a technical conduit between prospects/customers and internal teams; Provide information to the product team if/when there’s a gap in a feature or product 
• Owns configuring product packaging to deliver customer needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 5+ years pre-sales, applications, or sales engineering experience for enterprise software, SaaS, IoT, railroad, and/or asset tracking, ideally in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization 
• 5+ years SolidWorks and AutoCAD, modeling and drawing software experience
• 3+ years rail industry experience
• Proven track record in effective technical interaction during complex, multi-touch, multi-level sales processes; ability to articulate complex technical information and translate its appropriate value for the target audience, from C-suite to end-user employees (i.e., rail yard)
• Proficiency in configuring technical solutions for railroad and/or transportation controls and systems
