Sterling Engineering is seeking a Nuclear Quality Assurance Program Specialist to support a long-term contract focused on updating and maintaining software quality assurance documentation in accordance with NQA-1 requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a strong nuclear quality background, exceptional technical writing skills, and experience developing quality procedures for engineering software programs.

Job Summary:
This position will lead the review, update, and development of software quality assurance plans, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with NQA-1 quality standards. The role will work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to support software development, procurement, document control, and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties:
  • Evaluate existing software quality assurance processes and procedures for compliance with NQA-1 standards.
  • Develop and revise software quality plans, procedures, desktop instructions, and work instructions.
  • Support compliance with applicable IEEE software standards and nuclear quality assurance requirements.
  • Provide guidance to engineering and other departments on software quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate updates to quality documentation supporting engineering, software development, procurement, and document control.
  • Support continuous improvement of software quality processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and quality objectives are met.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; technical degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and/or implementing nuclear quality assurance programs.
  • Commercial nuclear industry experience preferred.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation in accordance with ASME NQA-1, IEEE 7-4.3.2, and NRC Regulatory Guides for software quality.
  • Experience supporting software development under a regulated quality program is preferred.
  • Experience with ASME BPVC Section III quality programs is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirements.
