Sr Software Engineer
Job Description
? Salary: Up to $125,000
- Lead the emulation and simulation of mid- to large-scale automated material handling systems
- Develop 3D emulation models to validate system controls, software, and equipment performance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design end-to-end automation systems
- Support projects integrating technologies such as:
- Sortation conveyor systems
- Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
- Robotics and automation
- Voice and light-directed picking systems
- Warehouse control and execution software
- Review work produced by other engineers and mentor junior team members
- Analyze system data and perform model validation and performance analysis
- Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for emulation models
- Work with external vendors to develop simulation interfaces and models
- Present findings and design insights to engineering teams and clients
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization
- Support multiple project assignments in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Travel up to 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in the material handling or automation industry
- 5+ years of experience in simulation or emulation modeling
- 3+ years of software development experience, ideally with object-oriented programming
- Advanced understanding of material handling equipment, automation systems, and controls
- Experience with simulation/emulation software such as:
- Demo3D / Emulate3D
- AutoMod
- or similar platforms
- Experience with JavaScript or similar scripting languages
- Proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Office, and Visio
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Understanding of UX concepts and interface specifications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
