Overview:
As a Custom Service Technician you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of machinery across the United States. Join a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase your skills in assembly, testing, installation, and troubleshooting, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and processes. There will be about 25-30% domestic travel involved.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the final assembly, testing, and quality control inspection of machinery before shipment.
  • Conduct field installations and provide professional service to customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to provide technical support for machinery upgrades and configurations.
  • Test customer-supplied product samples to determine equipment compatibility and configuration requirements.
  • Lead customer product testing, demonstrations, and technician education initiatives.
  • Review and recommend spare parts lists for new machinery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and problem-solving to enhance customer value.
  • Effectively utilize company resources to identify failures and causes during service calls.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry standards (OSHA, ANSI/PMMI, NFPA, NEC).

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ year experience as a Machine Builder, 5+ years as a Service Technician.
  • Proficiency in PLC, electrical (AC/DC fundamentals), machine shop (mill and lathe technology).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and ladder logic.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Travel required, typically 25-30% annually.
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, ability to move parts/components up to 50 lbs, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
