Responsbilities
  • Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following: 
  • Protective relaying and relaying systems 
  • Circuit Breakers 
  • Power Transformers 
  • Current and Potential Transformers 
  • Meters, Transducers, and Power system metering 
  • Power Cables 
  • Grounding Systems 
  • Motors and Motor Starters 
  • Station Batteries and Chargers 
  • Alarm systems and Annunciators 
  • Personal Protective Equipment 
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and/or repairs 

Education and/or Work Experience: 
  • AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology, BSEE, BSEET or equivalent experience in the high voltage industry 
  • 4+ years’ experience in the high voltage industry 
Qualifications: 
  • Power DB knowledge a plus 
  • Valid driver’s license Word processing, spread sheet and e-mail software 
  • Mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry 
  • Broad knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals (Electrical) 
  • Broad knowledge of the major components of a substation 
  • Broad knowledge of control and protection systems (Electrical)
