Job Description
Job Summary: Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer with expertise in Drupal or other web content management systems. The developer will work within an Agile Scrum team to enhance, upgrade, and develop tools for web content management, enterprise search, and related systems.
Location: Remote in US (U.S. Citizenship Required)
Hourly Pay Range: $36/hr

Job Duration: 6-month contract assignment with Possible Extension
Responsibilities:
- Develop, upgrade, and maintain Drupal and other web content management systems.
- Work on enterprise search (Coveo), Site Studio components, SharePoint development, and system integrations.
- Support authentication and web services integrations.
- Decommission outdated technologies and migrate applications.
- Fix defects and improve developer tools, including unit tests and CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide user support, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members.
- Document processes and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
- Follow cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS development.
- Strong expertise in Drupal or similar web content management systems.
- Experience with database development (MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
- Experience with SharePoint, WordPress, and enterprise search tools (Coveo) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, software testing, debugging, and secure coding practices.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile Scrum team.
Technical Requirements:
- Work will be performed remotely using Microsoft Teams and Outlook for communication.
- A government-furnished laptop, PIV Card, and necessary security credentials will be provided.
