Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design custom automated systems tailored to diverse environments while adhering to cost and labor constraints.
- Collaborate with the Applications Engineering, Sales, and other departments to develop project feasibility plans and establish a clear path to success.
- Oversee the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create detailed designs, drawings, and models for mechanical components, assemblies, and structures.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to validate the viability and effectiveness of proposed mechanical solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs.
- Communicate technical requirements, project timelines, and design considerations effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in machine/system design, development, and integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and occasional use of simulation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven leadership skills, including experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success.
- Background in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment.
Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 dependent on experience
