Title: Senior Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Location: North Chicago, IL
Hire Type: Contract, Onsite
Schedule: 6:00am – 6:00pm (4 days on / 4 days off)
Target Pay Range: $35.00 - $40.00/hour (W2)
Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical/Dental/Vision Plans, 401(k), ESOP
Must have Skill Set: Industrial mechanical background (HVAC, refrigeration, utilities)
 
Overview:
Seeking a senior-level Maintenance Mechanic to provide advanced mechanical and multi-trade support within a manufacturing environment. This role independently maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems while supporting preventive maintenance, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
 
Job Duties: 
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot pumps, air handlers, and utility distribution equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across plant equipment
  • Support vibration analysis, balancing, and reliability-centered maintenance activities
  • Work as a multi-skill tradesperson (mechanical, electrical, pipefitting, building maintenance)
  • Assist with root cause investigations and equipment reliability improvements
  • Create, edit, and execute maintenance job plans
  • Train and mentor lower-level maintenance technicians
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company compliance requirements
 
Qualifications: 
  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification with 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong industrial mechanical background (HVAC, refrigeration, utilities)
  • CMRT or similar reliability certification preferred
  • Comfortable using advanced diagnostic and predictive maintenance tools
