Senior Applications Sales Engineer – Chemical Valves
Job Description
✈️ Travel: ~50% (Domestic & International)

? $115,000–$175,000 base + 20% annual incentive bonus

- Act as the technical and applications sales lead for Specialty Chemical valve solutions
- Partner with Sales teams to support new business development, account growth, and key customer engagements
- Translate customer process requirements into optimized valve and system solutions
- Support RFQs, bid reviews, and vendor list qualifications with strong technical input
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to customize products and support required certifications
- Influence specifications and position solutions early in the sales cycle
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to support commercial strategy
- Develop pricing recommendations in partnership with Commercial Operations
- Identify service expectations and lifecycle requirements for chemical applications
- Deliver customer presentations, technical training, and product demonstrations
- Support internal training to improve sales and cross-functional understanding of chemical applications
- Provide market feedback to guide product development and portfolio strategy
- Prepare professional reports, presentations, and commercial insights for leadership
- Strong background in chemical process applications, valves, or flow control solutions
- 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or commercial roles
- Proven ability to support and influence sales teams in complex, engineered solution environments
- Experience working directly with customers in the Specialty Chemical market
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy, RFQs, and commercial decision-making
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, customer-focused way
- Excellent presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Strategic, solutions-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency
- Comfortable working cross-functionally across global teams
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
