Title: Senior SEC Reporting & SOX Accountant
Location: West Houston, TX
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Shift/Hours: 1st, 8am - 5pm (Mon-Fri)
Base Salary: $111k - $134k (based on experience)

About the Opportunity:
Job Duties:
- Assist with identifying and building out ITGC and business process controls associated with an ongoing ERP implementation.
- Maintain the Company’s SOX compliance program and act as a central point of contact to ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and implemented.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and manage the SOX program, including interfacing with external third-party consultants.
- Coordinate with the IT team on the ITAC/ITGC testing program and educate business process owners through training sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of 10-Q and 10-K financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare schedules for Proxy filings and earnings materials provided to the investment community.
- Analyze financial statements to provide narratives for the MD&A and perform fluctuation analysis for outside auditors and management.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1).
- Demonstrate safety leadership by adhering to company safety culture and influencing peers to meet high standards.
- Perform other reporting and technical accounting duties as assigned by the Sr. Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a related business field is required.
- CPA or CMA designation (completed or in progress) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in an accounting-related field, with 3 years in a SOX-compliant organization and 2 years in public accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics SL or Oracle within a SOX environment.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for analyzing operational results.
- Demonstrated proficiency in identifying and driving process improvement initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
