Job Summary:
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained in safety, health, and environmental protocols.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections.
  • Report on facility safety metrics and manage regulatory environmental reporting.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate safety best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve SHE practices.
  • Participate in the planning and development of facilities and work procedures, offering SHE recommendations.
  • Oversee the preparation and updating of environmental policy manuals.
  • Stay informed on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support quality projects to help the company achieve its objectives.
  • Conduct safety walks on all shifts to identify potential issues.
  • Promote hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
  • Participate in supervisory Toolbox Talks.
  • Advocate for stop work authority when safety is compromised.
  • Lead the safety recognition program.
  • Foster a top-down safety culture.
  • Engage with employees to ensure open communication about safety processes and hazards.
  • Collaborate with employees to understand and mitigate work process risks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a lean manufacturing or repair environment, with supervisory experience.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for problem-solving.
    Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to learn new software tools.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Persistent in identifying improvement opportunities and developing effective solutions.
