Title: Customer Product Repair Mechanic
Location: West Chicago, IL 60185
Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: M-F, 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm
Pay: $28 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Work safely while helping colleagues work safely and utilizing Stop Work Authority when appropriate
- Follow pre-job brief and checklists prior to assembly
- Ability to independently repair and assemble BBx, OHx, Vertical Pumps, API pumps, ANSI pumps, Vacuum pumps, and other specialized high energy rotating equipment
- Significant experience with the proper and safe use of various common power and hand tools needed to assemble rotating equipment
- Utilize torches (and other heat sources) and liquid nitrogen properly and safely in the assembly process
- Follow all routers and assembly procedures needed to accurately repair and assemble rotating equipment
- Lead and participate in Pre-Job briefs with team leads and peers to understand job expectations
- Inspect and verify quality of finished and in-process work with precision measurement tools (i.e. micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.)
- Clearly document critical or indicated fits and dimensions in decimal form on checklists and inspection documents – including taking photos as needed
- Run balance machine to proper balance rotating components and assemblies
- Paint, tag, and prep the pump prior to shipment to the customer.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous mechanic experience
- Must own set of personal SAE hand tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.) and a roll-around toolbox within 6 months of hire.
- Able to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and other written work instructions
