Job Description

Title: Repair Mechanic - 1st Shift
 Location: West Chicago, IL
 Hire Type: Direct Hire
 Salary: $25-30/hour + $5,000 sign-on bonus
Must Have: Mechanic or mechanical background

Summary: The Repair Mechanic will be responsible for dismantling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling large rotating equipment. This role is essential in maintaining equipment reliability and ensuring quality standards. Candidates with a mechanical background or hands-on mechanic experience are strongly preferred.

Job Functions:
  • Follow routers and detailed assembly procedures to disassemble, clean, inspect, and accurately reassemble large rotating equipment.Utilize precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and gauges, to ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.
  • Clean and document the condition of each component to be used during reassembly.
  • Safely operate torches, liquid nitrogen, and other heat sources required in the repair process.
  • Handle cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks to move and position equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform precise inspections of components and assemblies, documenting results clearly and accurately.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances of pump components and assemblies.
  • Complete all related documentation associated with the disassembly and reassembly process.
  • Maintain efficiency and meet time constraints for all repair and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General mechanic skills (e.g., using wrenches, ratchets, and other tools).
  • Ownership of or willingness to procure a set of personal SAE hand tools, measurement instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers), and a roll-around toolbox.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and other written work instructions (preferred).
  • Basic computer skills to utilize data entry systems and Microsoft Word/Outlook.
