Sterling Engineering is looking for a Reliability Engineer in Peru, IL. This opportunity is with a well-established manufacturer known for innovation, safety, and operational excellence.

Job Duties:
  • Develop and implement reliability programs and asset strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies like vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, and oil analysis.
  • Support capital projects by providing input on equipment design and reliability.
  • Collaborate across maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize asset reliability.
  • Lead improvement initiatives such as FMEA, FMCA, MTBF, and life cycle analysis.
  • Manage the site’s relief system program and related compliance tasks.
  • Track and report monthly KPIs related to asset performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and proactive maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety policies and maintenance best practices.
  • Proficient in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive change.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial setting with required PPE.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC badge for facility access.
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of reliability or maintenance engineering experience, preferably in a chemical or process industry.
  • Familiarity with RCM, predictive maintenance, and asset management strategies.
  • Experience conducting root-cause analyses and managing incident investigations.
