Quality Technician | 2nd Shift
Job Description
- 1–5 years of quality laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Experience performing laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, HACCP, and food safety programs
- Experience using laboratory equipment and troubleshooting minor equipment issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
- SQF and/or PCQI certification preferred
- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing on raw materials, ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Analyze and document test results, communicating quality concerns to production and supervisory personnel.
- Investigate out-of-specification results and assist with identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on laboratory equipment.
- Enter laboratory data into computer systems and prepare quality reports.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and coordinate replacement of chemicals and testing supplies.
- Partner with production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness while following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), GMPs, and food safety requirements.
- Support SQF, HACCP, PCQI, and overall Food Safety and Quality programs.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–5 years of laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and laboratory equipment.
- Experience with food manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); SAP experience is a plus.
- SQF and/or PCQI certification preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work 2nd Shift after completing training on 1st Shift.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or OPT work authorization.
