Job Summary:
- As the Quality Product Specialist, you play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and top-notch quality of products produced at the Franklin Park, IL plant. This position involves inspecting work in progress and finished products, guaranteeing compliance with quality standards, GMPs, and Food Safety.
Job Duties:
- Ensure the inspection of finished product output, ensuring alignment with quality specifications.
- Examine daily quality reports entered into systems like SAP-QM by production personnel.
- Review monthly reports, request adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct sensory sessions for semi-finished and finished products.
- Support the factory's food allergen management program and maintain product coding.
- Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems.
- Train production employees on self-control aspects of product quality checks.
- Record goods movements in SAP, such as stock for quality controls and blocked stock.
- Ensure the implementation, practice, and maintenance of all program requirements and standards for quality and food safety.
- Conduct internal audits, record statistical data, and analyze production data to verify compliance or identify deviations from standards.
- Execute a daily review of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) documentation.
- Enforce and promote company guidelines, policies, and good manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or Food Chemistry; Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with raw materials, production processes, quality control techniques, and the ability to perform color matching and pattern identification.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must perform well in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in SAP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP strongly preferred.
