Job Summary:
- The Quality Manager is responsible for assuring the quality of company products and the components that go into them. The Quality Engineer has supervisory responsibility for all personnel performing quality functions, including first-piece, receiving, and in-process inspections and testing.
Job Duties:
- Create and document a quality control plan and process for Company products, including inspection and test plans.
- Create and document an inspection plan for components used in Company products.
- Plans include all relevant information including methods, equipment, instruments, gauges, etc. to be used, and inspection frequency and batch sizes.
- Create inspection forms, work instructions and other documents reflecting these plans.
- Create programs, jigs and fixtures for performing inspections and testing, including for coordinate measuring machines, vision systems and other automated inspection equipment.
- Implement pressure decay and other leak testing machines and equipment.
- Utilize Net-Inspect data management system. Train all personnel on the system. Analyze inspection data to identify issues, trends, etc.
- Train, supervise and support QC inspectors, machine operators and others performing first-piece, in-process and receiving inspections. Assign work. Review work product for accuracy and speed.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections on critical components.
- Manage the process for nonconforming components, including tagging, quarantine, evaluation, root cause analysis, and disposition.
- Work with Company managers and engineers and interact with external vendors to diagnose quality issues, address root causes, and troubleshoot and improve product design and manufacturing processes.
