Sterling Engineering is partnering with an industry leader in industrial equipment manufacturing on a key leadership opening. This company is known for its strong management team, high-performance culture, and commitment to innovation and safety.
Job Duties:
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing quality team
Develop and execute the company’s QMS and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee daily execution of the quality plan, including audits and certifications (ISO, PED, ASME, UL, CSA)
Lead focused problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis
Communicate quality strategies and metrics to leadership and cross-functional teams
Elevate customer satisfaction by improving overall product and process quality
Apply APQP processes, including PFMEA, control plans, and supplier readiness assessments
Utilize statistical tools for reliability modeling and predictive measures (e.g., Minitab, Weibull, Reliasoft)
Support broader business strategy execution beyond the quality function
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; Master’s preferred
5–7 years of experience in quality engineering/management in a manufacturing environment
Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or similar (AS9100, TS16949, etc.)
Certified Internal Auditor preferred
Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
Hands-on expertise with quality and reliability tools
Strong understanding of risk management, reliability, and lean daily management systems
Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to teach others
Work Environment:
Exposure to mechanical equipment; moderate noise level
Physical activity includes standing, walking, occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and depth perception
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Standard hours 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, with occasional extended hours or weekends as needed
Travel:
Primarily local; some out-of-area travel may be required
