Position: Quality Engineer
Location: Cary, IL  60013 onsite daily
 
Salary Range of $90K - $120K

I am looking for an experience Quality Engineer with 3-5+ years of manufacturing industry experience to lead key quality processes and take ownership of CAPA initiatives. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a flexible packaging environment for medical devices and plastics, embraces leadership responsibilities, and is committed to growing within a small team setting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and manage the CAPA process, including conducting root cause analysis on the production floor, with a primary focus on driving improvements during the first six months.
  • Lead and take full responsibility for at least one key quality process, ensuring adherence to industry standards and organizational goals.
  • Act as a key point of contact during customer and regulatory audits, demonstrating confidence and professionalism.
  • Navigate gray areas in the packaging environment where regulatory requirements are less defined, working collaboratively to resolve issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders, confidently handling challenging conversations and situations with tact.
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a production environment, preferably in flexible packaging.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an ISO 13485 environment.
  • Expertise in process validation, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
  • Customer-facing experience, particularly in audits, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in MS Office required; Minitab experience preferred.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
