Quality Engineer
Job Description
- Provide quality engineering support within the manufacturing environment, particularly focusing on welding processes for new customer projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer communication regarding product quality issues, score-card improvement actions, and product/equipment qualification activities.
- Lead internal quality improvement initiatives to meet and exceed customer targets and expectations.
- Participate in Quality System maintenance activities, including CAPA, Internal/External Audits, and Complaints management.
- Collaborate within product development engineering processes, including validation activities, SPC & data analysis, and development of control plans and PFMEA's.
- Participate in print and design reviews, identifying significant characteristics and implementing appropriate controls.
- Ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal support teams to address quality-related events and customer issues effectively.
- Introduce and validate process improvements, including procedures, QA methodologies, tooling, and equipment.
- Conduct verification and failure analysis of returned products, implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Develop QA sampling procedures to ensure product quality and utilize quality data for analysis and improvement actions.
- Lead problem-solving teams to address identified issues and develop improvement actions.
- Serve on project teams to provide QA oversight for new and revised manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the creation and approval of manufacturing procedures via process mapping within product groups.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in supporting manufacturing, particularly in producing industrial products, with exposure to a welding environment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing direct customer support for organizational quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future
