Job Description
Position: Quality Engineer
Location: On-Site in Loves Park, IL 61111
Duration: 18+ Month contract with the opportunity to extend

My direct client is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to evaluate procedures and work instructions as required by the Quality Management System and manage the review and approval of QMS documents. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with problem solving, Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA), and monitoring company/customer metrics to provide recommendations based on the results. Additionally, experience performing advanced quality planning processes including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)/First Article Inspection (FAI), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) is important.
Responsibilities:
· Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to drive Root Cause Corrective Action concepts/processes, including the 8D process to eliminate cause(s) in internal processes, or external processes when necessary.
· Demonstrates an understanding of interpretation of engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or electrical schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Demonstrates knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and TS16949 (site specific) requirements and their intent to ensure compliance of the Quality Management System.
· Is familiar with regulatory and compliance requirements. (Site specific examples- FAA, EASA, JCAB, CAAC, etc.)
· Demonstrates a basic- knowledge of Six Sigma principles, tools and methodology, and advocates utilization of the quality planning tools
· Demonstrates knowledge of APQP, the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and/or First Article Inspection (FAI) processes. Demonstrates a strong knowledge of process capability concepts, including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
Qualifications:
· Associates (or international equivalent) degree in a related technical field is required, or a 4 year degree in business related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality related activities, required.
· Green belt certification (or equivalent CI/RCCA certification) preferred.
· Prior experience in quality, engineering, machine shop, assembly or functional testing related experience is preferred.
· Prior experience in Quality Management Systems experience (document management, internal and/or external audits, nonconforming material control, and root cause and corrective action processes), preferred.
· Demonstrates solid computer skill including MS Outlook, Work, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge of MS Project-and Visio a plus.
