Job Description

Title: Purchasing Specialist 
Location: Harvey, IL 
Hire Type: Contract to Hire 
Salary: $43-55/hrly
 Must have: Raw Metals purchasing experience 
Misc: This role is 100% on-site 

Position Overview:
  • Purchase all raw material plate products for inventory and customer specific jobs.
  • Negotiate pricing on inbound steel plate purchases or steel related purchases. 
  • Maintain and control plate inventory.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with Steel Mills, Steel Service Centers and Brokers. 
  • Monitor scrap market pricing and other benchmark pricing for plate and flat roll products. 
  • Monitor market sell pricing for plate and sheet products. 
  • Approve all steel related invoices for accounts payable.
  • Participate in the Supplier Corrective Action Process, as required
Requirements:
  • Must have Steel or Metal purchasing experience
  • 2+ yrs purchasing experience
  • Prefer a BA/BS degree
