Purchasing Assistant
Job Description
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Research potential vendors
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and reconcile discrepancies
- Prepare cost analyses
- Prepare various daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Prepare for and conduct End of Month activities
- Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communication with those vendors
- Develop a process to monitors supply inventory and develop purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual inputs
- Establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors that benefit the company
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer and system skills
- Skill Level IV– 5+ years of experience, Technical or specific experience
- Skill Level III – 2-5 years of experience or Specific
- Skill Level II – 1-2 years of experience or BS/BA or Technical Degree Experience or Technical Certifications
- Skill Level I – Entry Level
