Sterling Engineering is looking for a Sr. Project Controls Specialist in Portland, OR. This opportunity is with a utility company supporting capital projects in transmission and distribution.

Job Duties:
  • Lead project controls efforts with a focus on cost control
  • Act as a mentor and key knowledge resource within the group
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera
  • Analyze project costs and variances using SAP; ensure corrections are made
  • Support large construction projects across the project life cycle
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of project controls experience
  • Prior utility and large construction project experience
  • Proficient in SAP, Primavera, and MS Office
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling and cost control
  • Preferred: CPM Certification and experience in electric utility design or construction
Schedule:
Standard 40-hour week. Base schedule is 7:00–4:00 or 8:00–5:00 with a 1-hour lunch. Minimal overtime expected.
